The “Room”

What can I say. The room was paid for.
Yet, had I known what was on the other side of the door, I’d have gladly forked out some green to get an upgrade to an actual room. It basically was a dorm room with the toilet and shower shoehorned into a closet.
This photo was taken at the entryway of the room.
This photo shows the bathroom, evidence for why they’re called water CLOSETS.
In comparison, Motel 6 rooms here in the States are quite posh and decked out. There must have been some sort of issue with power with this establishment, because every electronic device in the room (television, alarm clock, florescent light “lamp”…) was hard wired into the wall. There were no power outlets on any of the walls, period. ONE power outlet was eventually discovered as being integrated in the light mounted on the wall… which was a relief, but how were we to plug our battery chargers in for our gear, plus recharge our phones? More on this in a future post.
So if you’re every in Australia and looking for accommodations, don’t let the name “Hotel Formule 1″ fool you. It’s not as high performance as it’s led to think! Oh, but at a mere $80.00/night, it’s the cheapest room you’ll find in Sydney.
