For the first time in my career I was honored in photographing some of the biggest names in the surf industry in a social setting.  The only waves and sand were on the IMAX big screen, for this was the World Screening Premiere of the IMAX film, The Ultimate Wave Tahiti.

It was an incredible day at the California Science Center from start to finish.  I got to capture the occasion and hung out with the stars of the movie, Kelly Slater and Raimana Van Bastolaer.  It was a surf industry “who’s who” that evening, with names on the list including Bob McKnight of Quiksilver, Reef McIntosh, Lisa Anderson, Greg Long, Peter Townend, Kasia Meador, and Mavericks waterman Peter “Condor” Mel.

There was a live performance by Tahitian music and dance crew Nonosina, plus an epic after-party that included a musical performance by Mason Jennings.
