Midwest Madness

I have never seen or been in so much snow in my life. Further, I don’t think I’ve ever been in colder weather than when I went back to Kansas over the holidays.
My plans were thwarted for two days, as I was engaged in a fierce battle with a cold on Christmas Day, 2009. I pushed back my outbound flight by two days, and even still the flight was somewhat painful. Congestion, whether in your head or on the freeway, sucks.
On the upside of things, I’ve never has so much fun in the midwest as I did on this trip. The kids are amazing individuals, each of them for their own reasons and collectively because they have a great role model in their lives named “mom”. New Year’s Eve was spent with friends and family members, watching CSI and House marathons and really good food!
Due to the weather, I didn’t get to really get out and shoot much. It bummed me out, and had I the proper gear for the cold, I would have been out there as I imagine Ansel was.
But, hey… take a goooood look at my face. I’m from California. :-)
