If anyone wanted to be a top contender at this year’s US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, it was Courtney Conlogue… and her drive to be a top contender has landed her on top of the “A” list.
According to the ASP North America website, Courtney finished the 2009 competition season in First Place, with Hawaii’s Malia Manuel in Second and Carissa Moore in Third.
In the WQS Men’s division, Nate Yeomans placed First, just beating out another Huntington Beach local, Brett Simpson in Second, and Florida’s Cory Lopez taking Third.
Take a look at the article on Courtney’s triumph here.
Congratulations to ALL of the competitors, and I can’t wait to see what happens in 2010. The levels of competition has been getting increasingly exciting, and if the results of this season is any indication of what is to come, rest assured it will be the closest points chase in history.
