Seal Beach’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony took place under a dramatically wonderful sunset, although a bit chilly due to steady onshore winds. That didn’t keep many of the residents from coming out to support this local event!
“Nearly” real snow, live firs, and face painting were just a few of the features at the park to entertain the young groms. Several local businesses were on hand, as were a few of Santa’s helpers handing out hot chocolate and cookies to help keep people warm and festive during the wait til dusk.
The Seal Beach Animal Care Center as well as the local Surfrider Foundation chapter were present to share the joy and answer questions people had regarding their agendas.
Because there just wasn’t enough room for the big guy to land his sleigh, Santa was ushered to the event with the help of an Orange County Fire Authority pumper.
Seal Beach Chamber Of Commerce President Seth Eaker was joined by Director Of Operations Ruth Harrell in “throwing the switch” to the eco-friendly LED lighted Christmas Tree at the park, and urged residents to help keep economic growth positive for Seal Beach by supporting local businesses during the holiday season.
