FONTANA, CA-  It’s great to know that Battle Of The Imports is still out there going strong in this, their 19th year of existance!  The “times” hasn’t affected turnout much after all these years, other than maybe on the manufacturer’s side of things as Duano reported that the vendor row seemed a bit thin.  As far as the crowds were concerned, and overall racer turnout, the numbers still look good!  He wanted to go check out the event, so we let him loose at the California Dragway at the Speedway in Fontana.

“It was great seeing a lot of familiar faces and seeing names from the days we (the shop) used to support BOTI.  I always knew that Frank (Choi) was a stand-up guy who knew what to do in support of the masses, and it’s heartwarming to know he and Mike (Choi) are still at it and going strong into their TWENTIETH year in 2010, whew!  In addition to them making adjustments to the overall show, they are also staying very progressive with the racer categories to keep the field fair and more competitive in the same stroke.  Overall, Fontana was an awesome event… I just wished they had lighting there!”
