This is the first trial of covering the WSMC race with the new big lens.  I was excited as hell to put it through the paces, but as it would turn out it would require me to further experiment with settings to get it dialed in “just right”.

This event would prove to be bittersweet, as it would be Joe Cannon’s last race of the season.  He relocated to Hawaii shortly after his untimely release from American Suzuki Motor Corporation.  Damn, I hate the economy.

This also is the race where Pancho Spain, a veteran WSMC rider, perished in a tragic accident out in Turn 8.  Our condolences to his family and friends.
